Kvase 1200 (Colin Archer) (1993)
Kvase 1200 (1993) - Under offer

This sturdy 17 ton Colin Archer Ketch has just returned from a trip to the Shetlands, after years of journeying the Mediterranean and Red Sea. This is rock solid boat that can take a beating. The large deck has wide gangways and all windows are either lexan or safety glass. It has a mid cockpit and long keel. The ship does needs some wind to get going, but when she does she sails really well. The hull was built according to the drawings of Mr. K. Kornaat and the interior was designed by the owner.

The accomodation is very well thought out, and the interior is practically furnished with plenty of storage space. Right next to the entrance is the chart table, though this is not a desk as usual but a standing table. Next to it is a quarter berth. To starboard is a passageway to the cabin aft and on the other side of the entrance is the galley with three-burner stove with oven and fridge. Behind it is the entrance to the engine room. Further forward is the seating area of the main cabin with a curved sofa and two comfortable armchairs. IN the bow are two berths at angels to each other. In the aft cabin there is a large double bed and in the passage a sink and access to the head and shower.

There is a real engine room onboard with headroom (the owner was an engineer in the merchant navy). The hefty six-cylinder DAF diesel 120 hp engine is easily accessible. Here is also stored: diving compressor, generator, various pumps, etc. and even a fully equipped work bench.

Broker’s comments: This is a boat with charisma: a boat you can take long, adventurous trips with. You can stay for weeks off shore, because of the large tanks and the aggregate. The interior is slightly different from other ships, but very practical and comfortable. A lot of stainless steel has been applied so that it is a low-maintenance ship, although the access hatch is a bit on the small side.
